Pieta, a representation of the Virgin Mary holding the dead Jesus Christ on her lap. The reclining figure of the Virgin Mary with her hands supports the drooping head of Christ. The sculpture is made of a single piece of wood. Set on a separate base. Richly polychromed. The painting is preserved in very good condition. Under the gilding, in places, the underlay clay is visible. On the heads of Christ and Mary are ornate, ornate brass crowns.
The sculpture comes from southern Germany or Austria.
