Tomaszow Artificial Silk Factory was established in 1911.
In communist Poland it operated as State Artificial Silk Factory No. 1, Tomaszowskie Zakłady Włókien Sztucznych. Towards the end of its operation, it functioned as Zakłady Włókien Chemicznych "Wistom".
It was liquidated in 1997.
