"Rods" is one of the most recognizable Polish fabrics. In the interwar period it achieved great commercial popularity and, as a makata, a curtain or a serviette, was hosted in numerous residential interiors. It also adorned public spaces, as in addition to its decorative features it carried ideological ones. The eponymous rods - witki, willow branches, an ornament from folk Easter eggs - were simplified and multiplied in a row. The striped composition was reminiscent of kontusz belts and noble traditions. At the same time, it referred to folk motifs. Implemented into production in 1926 in the workshops of the newly established ŁAD Artists' Cooperative, the jacquard fabric was realized in several color, composition and material variants. Kintopf managed to bring out in it the effects of tonal transitions, valor nuances, brilliance, which are characteristic of the jacquard technique. Today Lucjan Kintopf is considered a master of Polish Jacquard, a designer who elevated this type of fabric to the rank of a work of art, giving it a symbolic and patriotic meaning in addition to decorative. Kintopf's fabrics from the 1920s and 1930s are often identified as iconic for Polish art déco design. They are also considered the most outstanding achievements of "Ład". Repeatedly honored and awarded at about 150 exhibitions in the country and around the world.
