A rare badge associated with the Falcons' Association in Lviv, dated 1938.
The "Sokół" Gymnastic Society was one of the most important Polish sports, educational, and patriotic organizations. The Lviv community was particularly important – it was in Lviv that the first Polish "Sokół" Gymnastic Society was founded in 1867 , becoming a model for the later developing Sokół movement in Poland.
A striking badge in the form of a multi-ray star. The central element of the composition is a falcon with outstretched wings , leaning over a circular medallion placed below. The bird's dynamic representation directly references the traditional symbolism of falconry.
On the reverse there is an engraved inscription "Sokół Association / in Lviv / 1938".
The cap is unsigned.
Badge from the Collection of Lech Kokociński, Honorary President of the Polish Numismatic Society.
Dimensions 50 x 50 mm
