TYPE III—plastic (galalite) chips with simple lettering. In 1932, the chips then in use were replaced with new ones. The reason for the change was the typeface (Schwabacher). This is because the casino’s guests were mostly citizens of countries outside the German-speaking world, for whom Schwabacher was difficult to read.
