"State and Law" (PiP) is the second oldest Polish legal scientific journal. Affiliated to the Committee for Legal Studies of the Polish Academy of Sciences, the monthly has been published continuously since 1946. The publisher is Wolters Kluwer Polska.
The Editor-in-Chief of "State and Law" and the Editorial Committee are appointed for a term of office by the Dean of Division I - Humanities and Social Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences at the proposal of the Committee of Legal Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences, from a group of outstanding lawyers of merit to the Polish science and practice of law. The position of Editor-in-Chief was held by Prof. Dr. Stanisław Ehrlich (1946-1967), Prof. Dr. Sylwester Zawadzki (1967-1981), Prof. Dr. Leszek Kubicki (1981-2012) and Prof. Dr. Andrzej Wróbel (since 2012).
