Waclaw Sobieraj was born on September 26, 1950 in Uniejow. He studied at the State Higher School of Fine Arts in Lodz, where in 1974 he received a diploma in painting under Prof. Zdzislaw Glowacki, with an annex in decorative textile design under doc. Aniela Boguslawska and in clothing textile design under adj. Boleslaw Tomaszkiewicz.
"My painting stems from personal inner experiences, from the delight of meeting some place at a particular time of year, time of day, lighting. The need to stop this experience of different emotional strength determines the form of paintings." - Waclaw Sobiera
