Mahogany box, with brass hardware and horned entablature on shorter sides; blind rectangular signboard on lid. Recessed lock. Inside, three drawers. When the lid is opened, a diagonal writing top, upholstered with green fabric, is formed; above it are compartments for inkwells and an elongated pen trough.
