The fir and beech forest, located within the Swietokrzyski National Park, was named "Fir Forest" by Stefan Zeromski, who praised the nature of the Swietokrzyskie Mountains in a poem of that name. "Pushcha is nobody's - not mine, nor yours, nor ours, but God's, holy!" - he wrote. The publication features texts by Stefan Zeromski, but also by Stanislaw Staszic, Wladyslaw Napoleon Medynski or Jan Gajzler.
