original color lithograph, 38 x 56 cm, double board from the magazine "Derriere le Miroir" no. 212, January 1975, Maeght Éditeur, Paris.
One of the most outstanding sculptors of the 20th century. He was a pioneer of kinetic art, the author of moving sculptures, called mobiles by his friend Marcel Duchamp, and immobile constructions, for which the name stabile was suggested by Jean Arp. He began his artistic career as a painter and draughtsman as early as the 1920s. He was a member of the Abstraction-Création association. He created monumental sculptures, including for the World Exposition in Montreal, for the Olympic Stadium in Mexico City, for the Dallas airport, and his works can be found on the streets of New York and many European cities. Of his painting techniques, he most readily used gouache. For many years he worked with the Paris gallery and publishing house Maeght, for which he made several series of color lithographs.
