Drawing made in pencil on paper glued to a stiff cardboard backing. The composition is maintained in a monochromatic range of grays, with a clearly visible, freely guided line and local, more intense shading.
The scene depicts a section of a street shot in perspective, with urban buildings on either side. On the left is visible a tall, compact building with strongly accentuated vertical shadow bands. In the depth of the composition, more buildings and the line of the street are outlined, with a delicately marked element of a lamppost.
In the central part there are two human figures shown from behind, in motion, heading into the space. One of them is holding or guiding a long, angled object, while the other is moving right next to it. The silhouettes are sketchy and simplified, with basic body proportions and gestural movement marked.
In the foreground, irregular linear and geometric forms are visible, which may represent fragments of a structure, barrier, vehicle or scattered elements. In the lower part of the sheet, minor discoloration and signs of use are noticeable. The signature "W.S." is visible in the lower right corner. and the notation "44" (partially obliterated).
Dimensions : approx. 30 x 21 cm
