Giovanni Romagnoli's artistic practice reveals spaces on the edge of (im-)possibility and is based on balanced composition and invention. The layering of various drawing techniques, from pointillism to etching, establish a language completely free of logical constructs by manipulating scale and light distribution. His metaphysical drawings encapsulate the expansion and external exposure of the inner world, where the zeitgeist is indecipherable but points to an eternal presence. The works are executed freehand directly on paper with a dense, contemporary stroke, bringing the images to life, creating movement through the use of repetitive patterns and shapes, allowing for new discoveries and openings, like doors to alternative dimensions.
