Ryszard Otręba graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow (1953-1959) and Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, NY (1966-1967). Professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow. Visiting professor at Sydney College of the Arts 1981 and 1984 Australia, University of Connecticut in Storrs 1993 USA. He participated in many exhibitions of graphics and drawing at home and abroad and in international exhibitions. He has held 53 solo exhibitions.Among other things, he practices printmaking, drawing and poster design. He is a respected specialist in the field of visual communication. As a graphic artist, he works in the gypsorite technique, known in the world as the "Bran method."
