Crayons on paper, 70x50cm, signed.
My name is Aleksandra Poplawska.
For years I have been engaged in creative work in the field of illustration, drawing, painting and also sculpture.
I believe that an important element of my creative work is to build a gateway to escape from reality, not only for the viewer of art, but above all for the creator himself.
I classify my works mainly as surrealism, although there will also be paintings belonging to other trends in art. I like to use realistic elements in my paintings and illustrations, such as faces or parts of the human anatomy, but I always run them through the filter of my imagination. Although the very process of putting colors on paper gives me a lot of joy and satisfaction, I create primarily to be able to give vent to my creativity when planning an image. I enjoy observing the world around me, and it constantly surprises me. I play with the fact that the inspiration for the creation of a new work can be, for example, a whirlpool of tea or a hunchbacked woman sitting in a streetcar. I often incorporate symbolic content into my surrealist works, but it is more important for me to evoke surprising sensations and emotions in the viewer.
