Biography
She creates mainly using tempera, working on wood, canvas and paper. Her work is based on deep listening to emotions and inner experiences - both her own and those of her portrayed subjects. She specializes in portraits, which she calls "soul portraits." Through rich symbolism, she shows in them the spiritual, intimate world of her models. The artist explores themes of identity and human presence within larger forces such as nature and spirituality. She communicates themes of balance - between light and darkness, the individual and the community, man and nature. Her paintings reflect on human nature, empathy and personal experience. The painter has been awarded the Luxembourg Art Prize three times; she has exhibited at international art fairs in Venice, Florence and Rome.
