Jan Lemański—Polish poet, satirist, and fable writer of the Young Poland period. He attended secondary school in Płock and later studied at the Faculty of Law of the Imperial University of Warsaw. Beginning in 1894, he published short works in Warsaw periodicals. During the interwar period, he worked as a civil servant at the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and toward the end of his life as a film censor. At that time, he withdrew from literary life and ceased his literary activities.
