Juliusz Domański ( born 1927 in Suchy Lipie)—historian of ancient, medieval, and Renaissance philosophy; classical philologist; professor at the Institute of Philosophy and Sociology of the Polish Academy of Sciences and the Institute of Classical Philology at the University of Warsaw; active member of the Polish Academy of Arts and Sciences, corresponding member of the Warsaw Scientific Society, member of the Polish Philological Society, and the International Society for the History of Rhetoric
Tadeusz Ulewicz was born in 1917 in Radom and died in 2012 in Kraków. He was a literary historian and professor of Old Polish literature at Jagiellonian University. One of the most distinguished experts on the works of Jan Kochanowski, Old Polish printing, and Polish-Italian cultural ties. Author of over 500 scholarly dissertations.
He received honorary doctorates from the universities of Milan and Łódź. He was a member of the Polish Academy of Arts and Sciences and the Warsaw Scientific Society.
For his work, he was awarded the Commander’s Cross with Star of the Order of Polonia Restituta (2000), the Order of the Star of Italian Solidarity (Grande Ufficiale), the Medal of the National Education Commission, and the Gold Medal “For Merit to Culture – Gloria Artis.”
