Tadeusz Michal Siara (born Kuczynka in Poznañ, Poland on June 20, 1941, lives in Katowice) studied at the Katowice branch of the Faculty of Graphic Arts of the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow (now the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice), where he received a diploma in printmaking in 1969. From 1993 to 2000 he taught at his alma mater. In 1972 and 2003 he was a scholarship holder of the Minister of Culture and Art, and in 1975 he received a scholarship from the Dutch government to study at the Rietveld Akademie in Amsterdam. He has been exhibiting at home and abroad since 1969. He has had about 50 solo exhibitions. He regularly participates in international biennials and triennials of printmaking, including in Krakow (1974, 1976, 1984), Florence (1974), Menton (1974), Bradford (1976), Ljubljana (1979), Mulhouse (1980), Frechen (1978, 1983), Riga (1990), Sapporo (1991), Chamalières (1991). He won, among others, a gold medal (team) at the XII International Salon Juvisy, Paris 1971, a medal of honor at the VII exhibition "Small Forms of Graphics", Lodz 1991. He deals exclusively with printmaking in traditional metal techniques (mainly etching). He creates atmospheric, nostalgic and symbolic compositions dedicated to the disappearing nature and picturesque corners of the cities he visits. He incorporates texts into his compositions (in the "Letters" series, continued since 1975) and symbolically treated references to cultural traditions and local values. In 2004, the artist's 35th anniversary exhibition was held at the BWA Gallery of Contemporary Art in Katowice.
