The medal "For sacrificial (or brave) work in the Great Patriotic War 1941-1945" is a Soviet state decoration, established in 1945 to commemorate the achieved victory over Germany during the "Great Patriotic War" (World War II). Awarded to individuals who did not fight at the front, but were considered to have contributed to the victory over the Third Reich during 1941-1945. It was given to laborers, engineering and technical personnel, kolkhoz workers, agricultural specialists, people of science, technology, art and literature, activists of party and social organizations, among others.
