Lot information
The painting "Za Zbraslavi" by Josef Hanel Dolansky is an example of a peaceful rural landscape, which reflects the influence of romantic landscape painting of the 19th century. The author, who was a student of Max Haushofer, inherited from his teacher a sense for the detailed rendering of nature and sensitive work with light. In this work, Hanel Dolansky focuses on the harmonious connection of human activity with the surrounding landscape - the figures of the gosling and the resting child are part of the natural cycle. The composition of the image is calm and balanced, with subtle transitions between individual plans of the landscape. The fresh color palette and careful processing of details contribute to the idyllic atmosphere that is typical of Czech landscape painting of the second half of the 19th century.
