Pair of cap pistols in case, Western Europe, ca. 1850

L u f y forged, fastened to the stock with a cotter pin on the bed and a screw on the pigtail to the neck. On the back embedded targeting instruments. On the left side, at the level of the firing chamber, the maker's signature: a star, the letters "ELG" in an oval (Luttich/Belgium). Z a m k i caps, mechanisms in working order. Plate and counterplate set in hollow sockets. Steel fittings - bail with mustache, cock, plate, counterplate, pigtails - decorated. The barrel is made of a uniform piece of wood. The bed reaching half the length of the barrel. Flask densely diagonally incised in a fine checkered pattern, ending in an oval head. Silver oval appliqué applied on the neck, as is the socket of the spade.
