The hilt is open, with a straight crossed hilt, with whiskers made of iron, decorated on the outer side with a stylized monogram of Tsar Alexander III. On the inner side, the symbol of Tsarist Russia - a double-headed eagle with insignia. The shaft of the handle is flat, oval, with the head raised upwards, edged with a brass "thimble", widened at the bottom, covered with leather and edged with wide bands of brass sheet. Between the bands scored decorative nails. Bands with rows of repoussed points forming an astragal. The whole decoration strictly refers to the style of national patterns, characteristic of the Caucasus regions. The knobs of polished steel, with moderate curvature. Amphibians profiled in a wide ridged groove. In part of the crockery an etched cartouche and the monogram of Tsar Alexander III, with fields of decoration from the top and bottom symbolizing the patterns of the cultures of the peoples of the Caucasus. On the inner side, a double-headed eagle with a scepter and apple and an ornament in a similar style to that on the outer amphibian. The decoration is etched, with a blackened background.
