Krzysztof Gocek (1964–2026)

Artist and collector, he lived and worked in Głowno. For many years, he pursued acrylic and oil painting with great passion, preferring miniature formats. His works are held by collectors in Poland and abroad, and he was considered one of the most interesting contemporary landscape painters. His works are featured in the catalogs of Polish auction houses as well as in domestic and international art galleries. He was a member of the Association of Polish Fine Artists.

Krzysztof Gock’s paintings are colorful impressions of nature: rural and urban landscapes, atmospheric nocturnes, and water views. The artist experimented with texture and color using oil and acrylic paints on canvas and cardboard. He preferred intimate formats, which allowed for greater expressiveness in his brushwork but required synthesis and the use of perspective shortcuts. The sources of inspiration for these works, aside from the nature surrounding the artist—always transformed by his vivid imagination—can be found in art history: French Impressionism and the finest traditions of 19th- and 20th-century Polish landscape painting. Krzysztof Gocek enriched this body of work with his own technical skills, experimenting with composition within the same or similar themes, always reinterpreting them anew. It is a universal art, yet one that springs from personal experiences and imaginings, revealing the artist’s sensitivity and painterly sensibility.
