Bronislaw Jamontt began his artistic studies before WWI in St. Petersburg, had his first exhibition in 1915 in Vilnius, in the interwar period he exhibited his works in Warsaw and in several European cities, was the successor of Ferdynand Ruszczyc in the chair of landscape painting at the Stefan Batory University in Vilnius (his alma mater), where he stayed until 1945, after the war he was a professor in Torun at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the Nicolaus Copernicus University.
