Biography
Studied at the Faculty of Graphic Arts of the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow in the studio of Professor Jerzy Duda Gracz, and then at the Faculty of Painting in 1981-84. Since 1983, he co-founded the "Group of Three," also known as the "Excessive Tercet," which called in its manifestos presented in the magazine "Bengal" for creative truth in art, related to the quality of form, color and workshop, opposing the widely prevailing artistic and media trash. He exhibited his works in collective presentations of Polish art at home and abroad. Janusz Szpyt's work is the subject of many publications and art essays.
