RRR-, Stefan Batory, Shelby without date, Riga

A very rare Stefan Batory scratch shilling, no date. The variety illustrated in the Parchimowicz-Brzezinski catalog by a photo from the 4th WCN auction, 1993. The coin has not appeared on the auction market since then. The offered piece was struck with the same pair of stamps - identical arrangement of letters and punctuation marks in the rim, and a characteristic chipping under the Riga coat of arms reaching the letter "C" in "CIVI" on the reverse. Great rarity, nice condition. Piece for the best collections.
