Rare Russian coin with a face value of 3 roubles, made of platinum.
Scratched.
Russia was the first country in the world to introduce platinum coins into regular circulation. The program began in 1828 at the St. Petersburg Mint with the issuance of the 3 Rubles denomination, later expanded to include 6 and 12 Rubles. These remarkable coins were struck exclusively during the reign of Tsar Nicholas I, in relatively low mintages and for only a brief period. After the program was discontinued, platinum coinage was never resumed, making the Russian platinum rubles among the most distinctive and historically significant coins of the 19th century.
