A very nice example of the first of the commemorative issues minted during the reign of Nicholas I.
The coin commemorates the unveiling of a monument to the memory of Tsar Alexander I.
Issued in an edition of only 15,000 pieces, it was distributed to soldiers who participated in the parade to celebrate the unveiling of the monument.
Very well preserved details with only mild rubbing of the highest parts of the relief. Freshness of the background, a few deeper cuts.
