A VERY RARE trojak from the Lublin mint, with the Axe (Kacper Rytkier's mintmaster) mark on the reverse.
According to Dariusz Marzęta, author of the Catalogue of Lublin Trojaks, Kacper Rytkier' s stay in Lublin was short, lasting only 4-8 weeks!
Hence the rarity of this type of trojak.
Rarest among the inscription varieties is the legend SIG III (...), instead of the usually written SIG 3 (...).
Dariusz Marzęta in the Catalogue of Lublin Trojaks added next to this variant of the legend: "a very rare inscription variant"!
In the catalog of Jozef Tyszkiewicz, the trojak with the Axe is valued at as much as 25 marks in gold(!), with no division into variants of legends.
A beautiful piece, with very good detail, full puck, good minting.
