Sigismund I the Old, Half-Grosz, 1517, Vilnius – colons – rare
A variant featuring Pogoń without a sword scabbard (rear legs forward) on the obverse and an eagle with its upper feathers pointing toward its head (long neck and five feathers) on the reverse.
Variant with a colon after the date and after “LITVANIE”—more rare.
Condition: 2-/2
Minor localized mint marks, but a beautifully preserved coin. Luster and plenty of mint mirror finish. A rare and underappreciated year. A rarer punctuation variant. An attractive piece.
