Signed, dated and described on the back: MILANOWSKI / 2016 / oil / canvas.
Tomasz Milanowski creates paintings of matter and sign suspended in abstract spaces of liquid color and morphology of paint subjected to the interaction of various forces: gravity, eruption or inter-particle attraction and repulsion. The painting process highlights the geology of pigment marked by the fluctuation of the increasing entropy of the chaos of paint flow, which specifically marks and forms this painting. Milanowski writes about his painting as follows: "I have the feeling that my painting, in which I evoke biological forms that do not imitate those existing in nature, but arise only in the process of creation, is some form of fantasizing about the unknowable." A student of Stefan Gierowski and Krzysztof Wachowiak, under whom he completed his diploma with distinction in 1998. Since that year he has been employed at the Faculty of Painting, at first as an assistant to Jerzy Boninski, then with Wachowiak. Currently runs a drawing studio. Professor at the Academy of Fine Arts. He is currently dean of the Faculty of Painting for the 2016-2020 term.
