Adam Kolakowski - was born in 1981. He graduated from the State High School of Fine Arts in Warsaw and the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznan. He works in painting and sculpture. Currently lives and creates in Opinogóra. During his studies, he developed his skills in the fields of graphic design, illustration, poster design, painting and sculpture.
He was an employee of the university as a lab technician in the woodcut studio. He was awarded a trip to the University of Knoxville in the United States for a research scholarship. He has repeatedly presented his works at home and abroad. They are particularly appreciated among the American and Canadian Polish community.
Through the medium of oil painting, Adam Kolakowski tells stories hiding in his imagination. His painting is primarily an illustration of the emotional and intangible. The author is a keen observer of reality, from which he plucks wit, gives it a new narrative and personal commentary. Perversity, sarcasm, a glance at the world with a wink, make the images coherently form a whole, have a common denominator.
From the smoke of memories and longing emerges what is indigenous and true. It's a drawn-out essence of warm associations that each of us left behind when we left our native place, country, or were simply blurred by the rush of modernity. It's also the fused elements of dreams and dreaming, the flickering images of our imagination breaking out of the hustle and bustle of civilization, striving for peace and harmony.
