From 1951 to 1959, he studied at the Faculty of Painting of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw in the studios of Professors Stanisław Czajkowski and Kazimierz Tomorowicz.In 1954, he moved to the Illustration and Book studio led by Professor Jan Marcin Szancer at the Faculty of Graphic Arts. Under his direction, he received his diploma in 1957. At the same time, he continued additional workshop specialization in woodcut and linocut with Prof. Waclaw Waśkowski. In 1984-1986 he was director of the Capital Art Exhibition Office. From 1998 to 2007, he taught in the drawing and painting studios at the Graphic Arts Department of the European Academy of Art in Warsaw. His painting work is imbued with strong ties to nature, and is characterized by order in structure and composition. Luminism remains a central theme: a painterly pursuit of the changing theater of nature illuminated by sunlight or moonlight, a pursuit of the constant play of light.
