The presented work is a continuation of Eugeniusz Markowski's work, initiated in the 1970s, when the artist began to move away from subdued, monochromatic compositions, incorporating contrasting color into his artistic language. By the formal means used, the artist's works are often associated with the milieu of German New Wild artists, or the current of new figuration. An exceptionally apt commentary, fully reflecting the intentions in the created representations, is the statement of Eugeniusz Markowski himself: "I am personally interested above all in the grotesque and clear contrast existing today between the increasingly dizzying technological development and the immutability of primitive and elementary human passions and instincts."
