"The hedgehog listened for a moment;
Recalling something, reliving something.
He gazed into the October night
And clenched his fist like steel.
The street was empty all around.
The darkness deepened, the wind didn’t let up,
Autumn rain lashed against the windows.
What’s done is done,
It must have been meant to be,
So the hedgehog set off boldly,
He raced into the deserted distance,
Sneaking along the walls
And vanished into dark alleys.
And when the clock struck eleven,
The hedgehog left the city walls."
