Janusz Grabiański (Szamotuły 1929 - Warsaw 1976) - graphic artist, illustrator of books and publishing series, designer of posters, cards and postage stamps.

He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow from 1950 to 1951, then moved to the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw where he continued his studies from 1952 to 1955 under Prof. Jozef Mroszczak and Prof. Jan Marcin Szancer. After graduation, he was an illustrator of children's books, publishing series (such as the "Around the World" series, published by the State Publishing House "Iskry" in 1956-1994), author of posters and advertising graphics. He also illustrated the latest version of Marian Falski's "Elementarz", in print from 1974 to the present (2009).

Books illustrated by Grabiański have been published in more than 20 countries around the world, including Finland, Japan, Israel, South Africa, the United States, the United Kingdom, the Soviet Union, France, Italy, Sweden, Germany and Hungary. In less than 25 years of work, he has illustrated a total of several hundred books from Polish and foreign classics, including Maria Konopnicka's "O krasnoludki i sierotka Marysi" (the book was included on the Honorary List of the Hans Christian Andersen Award for Illustrations, 1976), Selma Lagerlöf's "A Wonderful Journey," Charles Perrault's "Fairy Tales" and Gösta Knutsson's "The Adventures of Filonek Bezogonek."
