Biography
A graduate of the State Higher School of Fine Arts in Wrocław (now the Academy of Fine Arts), where he studied under Eugeniusz Geppert. He received his diploma in 1954 and worked there as a teacher from 1957 to 1960. A member and co-founder of Group X, established in 1956, which also included Małgorzata Grabowska, Krzesława Maliszewska, and Alfons Mazurkiewicz. From 1961, he was associated with the Wrocław School. He was briefly influenced by the work of Paul Klee and Tadeusz Makowski. He gradually moved toward increasingly synthesizing forms into abstract art. He then turned to geometric landscapes, often inspired by the familiar scenery of Nowy Sącz and its surroundings.
