In "Empty paintings" Sosnowski was the first in painting - instead of light shown so far as a glow illuminating objects selected by the painter - he began to paint light as such. (...) It seems to penetrate the canvas from behind and spill over it, extinguishing towards the edges of the painting. In this way the artist faced his truth - this Przybosi "reality truer than things and their appearance".
