The painting "Sleep" is part of a series in which the artist tries to depict the existence of the dark side of personality (shadow as an archetype), which we constantly try to suppress. The characters in this series perform simple activities: they read books, clean, sleep, file their nails, but this is only an illusion of reality - an attempt to hide behind mechanical actions.
