Magdalena Pawlowska - for many years associated with the environment of art conservators, working on monuments (oil paintings, polychrome wooden and brick altars), she had the opportunity to learn the real workshop of the artist. Currently, she devotes more time to creating, expressing her thoughts and emotions. Her paintings are very personal. The author prefers everyone to interpret them on their own, individually.
The painting Christ is a metaphorical representation of the situation of religion, the church in today's world. The background, deliberately painted flat without perspective foreshortening, is a reference to ceremonialism and artificial wealth. What is essential, precious and profound destroys under a layer of dust and cobwebs. This is a very personal work.
