Marian WARZECHA (1930-2022)
Studied at the Faculty of Painting and then at the Faculty of Scenography at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow. At the same time he studied the history of material culture and art history at the Jagiellonian University. Since 1957 he has been a member of the Cracow Group, in whose exhibitions he has repeatedly participated. In the early period of his work, he experimented with informel art, while in later years he created geometric collages and reliefs maintained in uniformly white color. He developed his own artistic system with the cooperation of a mathematician, which was the result of his research on the relationship between science and art, on the basis of which he created a series of paintings and drawings called "Metazbiory."
