80x100, acrylic on canvas, 2023
B. 1979
Studied and consulted with a few select painters, while rejecting regular art college education.
While living in East London for 11 years, he was a member of BowArt, where he says he gained the necessary knowledge and a certain artistic maturity. As a member of this organization, he participated in many competitions, workshops and exhibitions.
"There is something down-to-earth in my philosophy of being an artist; my paintings are who I am. They are meant to be what I absorb into myself: emotions, feelings, passion. With paints I express myself, this medium is the closest to me; color, form, message. These are three important factors that, well put together, show a 'picture' instead of a thousand words. I reconstruct the reality created by mass media, cut them into pieces, mix, process and apply them according to my own proportions."
He feels strongly influenced by the New Wild (Die Neue Wilde), his art blazes with strong, aggressive colors, with defined perspectives and sharp contrasts, making them often expressions of anger and rebellion. His style is a compilation of several streams of art: neo-expressionism, figurative painting and some influence of primitivism. He combines different orders, reality with spirituality and mysticism.
