Stanislaw Wojcieszynski alias Wostan, Bull, 1978

Stanislaw Wojcie szynski was born on November 14, 1915 in Kozmin Wielkopolski. After receiving his high school diploma at the State Teachers' Seminary in Krotoszyn, he studied graphic design at the State Institute of Fine Arts in Poznań (1935-1938). In 1939 he was mobilized and fought in the September 1939 campaign, after the defeat he emigrated to France, where he joined Polish troops. After the occupation of France by the was arrested and remained in German captivity until 1945. After liberation, he settled in Paris, where he took up art again. He created expressive sculptures in colored plaster and cement and structural compositions in various materials, as well as dynamic abstract sculptures in metal and wood. He was also interested in collage and woodcut techniques. An important source of creative inspiration for him was prehistoric art and the sculpture of so-called primitive peoples. He represented France at many international art exhibitions. He died on July 28, 1989 in Beynes, where he was laid to rest in the local cemetery.
