"I decided to create a series of paintings built by recording the dynamics of time as it is here and now, a fascinating and mysterious point from which the past and the future arise at the same time - time that is expressed by the pulse of life, the breath of one existence - a human being, its trembling, humming quietly like the echo of a shell put to the ear, loops of lines from letters articulating the meaning of the moment, flowing down with ink, a drop of current time, thought, thoughtlessness, meaning, meaninglessness, duration and transience. In the manuscript used as a kind of painting medium, in the silence it brings, I wove figures, signs, symbols and created compositions that I believe can create goodness and beauty for today, for tomorrow." - Barbara Wroniszewska
Barbara WRONISZEWSKA (b. 1957)
Graduate of the Faculty of Painting at the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts, where she received her diploma in the prestigious studio of Prof. Stefan Gierowski in 1983. Formation at the side of the master of Polish abstraction shaped her analytical approach to color and light, which in her mature work gained an extremely personal, organic dimension. The artist has been associated with her alma mater for years, teaching at the Department of Conservation and Restoration of Works of Art, which has further deepened her technological and workshop awareness.
Wroniszewska's work is a consistent exploration of the boundaries of non-objective painting, in which the canvas becomes a record of inner landscapes and emotional afterimages. Her works are characterized by a refined culture of matter: the artist operates with subtle lasers, transparency of layers and vibration of color, building compositions of a contemplative, almost meditative character. Winner of numerous awards, including the prize in the "Painting of the Young" competition (1987), she has presented her works in exhibitions at home and abroad, including Germany, France and the USA. On the auction market, her works are valued for their rare ability to combine compositional rigor with lyrical sensitivity, making them an attractive choice for collectors seeking harmony and depth in contemporary abstraction.
