Zefiryn ĆWIKLIŃSKI (1871-1930)
A painter, he studied philosophy at Lviv University and painting at the Kraków Academy of Fine Arts. He continued his studies at the Vienna academy. He spent a year and a half traveling in Italy and Dalmatia. After returning to Poland in 1908, he settled in Zakopane. He was a member of the TZSP and exhibited in Lviv, Warsaw and Krakow, as well as abroad (London, Budapest, Vienna). The artist was initially influenced by Podkowiński's symbolism. From 1897 he took up landscape subjects, conducting regular studies of nature. Among his favorite motifs were landscapes of the Tatra Mountains.
