Lech KOŁODZIEJCZYK (b. 1953), Head X, 2003

The artist is a unique figure in the circle of Silesian artists. With his artistic activity he combines academic teaching. His oeuvre consists of several hundred paintings, in which he explores and develops a unique and very personal painting language. This language, a peculiar trademark of Lech Kolodziejczyk, is a fusion of constant search and inspiration resulting from very personal and private experiences. The author of several extensive painting series, the most important of which are (from the earliest): "Phantomans," "Cosmogonies," "Luminophores," "Book of the Sun," "Lyricons," "Heads," "Rhythms of Memory," and "Forgotten Horizon." He has held more than 100 solo exhibitions at home and abroad, and participated in more than 100 group exhibitions. Awarded for his paintings, in 1997 he received the Award of the Rector of the University of Silesia for his artistic and teaching activities.
