The pulsating composition of the painting transports us to the world of nature, a world of obscurity, where glints of light are like frozen, transient, momentary reflections. It is the transience of the moment recorded with the concrete matter of paint. All this creates a new abstract value. The stripes characteristic of the artist's way of painting have been disrupted with expressive zigzagging.
Leon Tarasewicz says of his painting: "I took less from symbolism, from the narrative that is present in Polish painting, and more from Eastern mysticism" (From an interview with Olga Wysocka, [in:] What after Cybis?, Zachęta - National Gallery of Art [cat. exhibition], ed. by M.
