"The painter does not reproduce nature. In his paintings, the landscape undergoes a bold and thoughtful transposition. The artist deals mainly with space already subjected to human interference. It is a "tamed" space, an urban space that man has created for himself and, finally, in which he feels comfortable. The motifs, are associated with nocturnes, the urban open air, the world in which trains and buses move. The artist paints them in motion.
Pawel Slota's working method is based on observing reality, noting interesting situations and places with his camera. So he paints streaks, ephemera of light, flashes and flickers, a world in motion that blurs the existence of object and subject. Sometimes he only contrasts this with the human figure (he introduces the self-portrait motif). This abstracting of the motif does not create a closed convention, on the contrary, it refers the viewer to purely painterly and timeless content."
