Slawomir Khristov's painting brings to mind the masters of the Quattrocento. The artist works eagerly, despite receiving his diploma in the woodcut studio of Professor Zbigniew Lutomski, in the traditional and demanding technique of egg tempera. The quality of his technique is described in the catalog accompanying the painter's monographic exhibition by Marek Soltysiak: Khristov amazes with precision, creating surfaces that give the impression of velvet, sheet metal and fur. Just that: also the impression of fine bronze casting. The intricate stenciling, always accurate, adapting to the motif being worked on, to the mood, and finally to the planned result, brings out illusionistically surfaces from common material. But this is not a mastery unto itself; the artist, developing literary, personal, authorial content, as well as philosophical reflections, what can I say, harnesses all of his precise technique [...] - to the work of conveying to the viewer the fullness that is the result of a complex creative vision, and the fullness of both creative and workshop possibilities.
