Brass bowl with commemorative medallion
An ornate brass bowl with a commemorative medallion embedded in its underside, depicting silhouettes of Emperor Francis I and his wife, Empress Maria Theresa. On the obverse (inside the bowl): busts of the emperor and empress in relief, depicted in profile, with a description of the figures and the emperor's date of birth at the bottom. On the reverse: medallions with busts in profile of the living children of the Emperor and Empress: in the center, a larger medallion with the bust of the next to the throne Joseph II. Surrounded by the inscription Foecunditas Augustorum Patriae and the date MDCCLVIIII. Good condition, minor soiling/rubbing.
